YUMMY!!!

men, time goes by too fast…i´m so sorry for my discontinuity! i like to show you some nice things from last week…first is a old tapestry from BANGUI, central-africa. my relatives lived there and it was a gift to us when we where little. now this masterpiece is mine and it reminds me of my child´s room back in the days. i love it. the memory, the great needlework, the colours and the motive.
AND look at this cute flower and the special mail which my sweet five-year-old nephew sent to his „fast-food aunty“ from his holidays in sweden: a delicious-looking hot dog (varm korv)- postcard- deeply in love with the stamps (and julius of course)
+++my favourite song from CAROLE KING´s Album TAPESTRY ▙▀ ▚ ▖▛▝ ▜▞▟▙▀ ▚ ▖▛▝ ▜ ▞▙▀ ▚ ▖▛▝ ▜▞▟▙▀ ▚ ▖▛▝ ▜ ▞▙▀ ▚ ▖▛▝
before my departure to spain i found this wonderful book (an issue from 1956) in a sloppy cardboard box right beside my front door. i like the colours on the cover, the skirt and the way how the synopsis is written at the back of the book.
…oh so, i´m happy to be back again!
yay! i completed my annual tax declaration, the „steuererklärung2008″ and i´m totally sick of that kind of work…now switching to the nice side of work. hopefully!
today i made an „open“ door sign for THE BAKERY with this sort of plastic tubes. (mhhh i don´t know how you name it in english and in german not either!) was such a great fun and it reminds me of tinkering around when i was a little girl…
i love mosaics. the structure, the look and the haptic…the wonderful possibility of creating patterns and the feeling to run over! Found these amazing motives in a metro station in switzerland…oh! i wish to mosaic the kitchen wall next to my cooktop- mhhhh i think i really have to try!
it was such a nice week with great findings and adorable gifts. good for the heart and the flat!
ha! and this extra scraggly leaf-ghost stared at me in the park. nature always makes the most impressive art…
we´ve had a really nice vernissage at THE BAKERY on thursday- what a great night with wonderful people. i made some nice things in advance, because we needed a box for addresses and some treats. i think it works ´cause the box filled up quikly and the cakes pop off.
this week i dedicated my time creating this wardrobe which idea haunted me for months. with the incredible help and sawing skills of my brother the tree grew out of itself. after coupling the „twins“ with a rack i lacquered the in- and outside with white colour. i leave the edges blank so that the wood structure gives the silhouette a remarkable touch! i can´t wait the colour to dry to hang up my new aenniemal dresses…
now it is finally out there…waiting for you. last week we finally made it, gave the bench a nice colour and placed it in front of the gallery. it is my ultimate companion, whether i am having a coffee in the morning or some chat in the afternoon. just drop by and check it out yourself! you are very welcome!!
snoopin´around downtown hamburg i discovered a closed and messed up icecream shop with this amazing window decoration. looks like the owner himself is the flavour of the month with this random rock collection!!!
last week i modelled this `the bakery´ logo to make- up the gallery window in a clean and personal way. the letters are dancing on the display. come in…you´re always welcome !!!
